Fubo Hill and Diecai Hill Scenic Area

 Diecai Hill commands a high vantage point, offering a panoramic view of the entire Guilin. Mingyue Peak, one of Diecai Hill's four peaks, is the highest peak in the urban area, with a relative height of 73 meters. The mountain is composed of layers of colorful rocks stacked like pearls and jade, hence the name Diecai Hill (Folded Brocade Hill). Midway up the hill is a unique wind cave, housing 178 stone carvings and 24 niches with 98 cliffside Buddha statues. Notable inscriptions include Marshal Chen Yi's phrase "Willing to be a Guilin native, not an immortal" and Qing Dynasty official Guo Sijing's "Longevity" (Shou) stone carving. As the saying goes, passing through the wind cave grants a life past 99, and climbing Diecai Hill extends life beyond 130. Reaching the summit offers a 360-degree bird's-eye view of Guilin city, allowing one to experience the artistic conception of a gathering place for landscapes. The combination of natural scenery and cultural heritage showcases the essence of Guilin.

Fubo Hill is hailed as the "Guardian Deity of the Li River." Its solitary mass rests half on land and half in the river. Every spring and summer, when the river swells, the hill's base blocks the raging waves, causing the water to reverse and swirl, possessing the power to subdue the torrents. The scenic area boasts numerous rare plants and historical relics, such as a large iron bell, a thousand-person cauldron, and Tang Dynasty Buddha statues. Most precious among them are the portrait and calligraphy of Mi Fu inside the Returning Pearl Cave.
